Craig and Barbara Weiner – Community Change Maker
Craig and Barbara Weiner are dedicated to engaging with students and educators to contemplate the horrendous acts that result from bias and bigotry. They have permanently endowed the Craig and Barbara Weiner Holocaust Reflection and Resource Center at Nova Southeastern University. The Center engages the public and thousands of students and educators annually to learn and access resources designed to reflect on the Holocaust and the sources of hate. The Center works tirelessly across Florida to encourage students, teachers, and others to become upstanders when they witness bigotry. They have created a statewide Holocaust Reflection Contest, for which winning students, their families and their educators are issued their rewards as well as being invited for a private tour of the Craig and Barbara Weiner Holocaust Museum of South Florida in the Alvin Sherman Library on the campus of Nova Southeastern University, as well as to attend a private dinner with Holocaust Survivors.
